Yes.  In fact, our qualified instructors will help you improve your posture and alleviate any aches and pains during your pregnancy.  Because of the emphasis on the deep core muscles it can also assist during labor by enhancing your endurance, strength and breathing techniques.  Continue your training after giving birth and we will help you regain your pre-pregnancy physique.

Everyone, avid athlete or not, begins from the same place in Pilates.  There are key fundamentals that make the exercises effective, and modifications for each exercise to perfectly suit your needs and exercise level.

We recommend 2 to 3 sessions per week for best results.  These can be all equipment or mat or a combination of both.  Pilates is most effective when the mat and equipment work are practiced together.  You will be pleasantly surprised at how quickly you feel and see changes in your body!

The focus on abdominal strength, flexibility and posture in Pilates lends itself well to those with back pain.  Since each exercise can be modified to meet your needs, our instructors will be able to guide you through the most appropriate exercises to help you reach your potential of balance and strength.  We strongly recommend disclosing all history of injuries and pain.  This allows us to evaluate your abilities and make recommendations to improve the safety of each exercise.

Frequently Asked Questions

At Breathe Pilates, we recommend starting with a Private session.  This will introduce you to the Pilates equipment and give you an idea of where your body is in terms of strength and weaknesses, as well as an opportunity to discuss your goals one on one.  Completing a Private session will make you more comfortable with the fundamentals, philosophy and language of Pilates.

We also offer a 6-week introductory Mat class, with ongoing classes upon completion.
